The Reason for Being of the Christian Church of Enlightenment™

For years, I have sought spiritual oneness with God while first going through a traditional Protestant Christian path, and then seeking additional understanding through thought leaders like Tony Robbins until later finding spiritual paths that were aligned with the concept of “total personal responsibility for one’s consciousness.” But what I’ve noticed among those who pursue less traditional spiritual paths is that many feel the need to dissociate to some extent or even entirely from Christianity as they become more spiritual. To me, this represents a loss of a powerful spiritual connection.

Spiritually minded seekers tend to say that all masters of consciousness are equal, which could be possible, though not necessarily true. What’s my own personal understanding? I believe that Jesus attained the highest possible consciousness while in and beyond human form. I also believe from a level of my own intuitive understanding that others have achieved the same state of consciousness. Why? The best answer is really that it is my intuitive understanding as I stated, but to go further, it is because only this conclusion is consistent with Jesus’ own beliefs.

Jesus believed that “What I do, you shall do also, and even greater works than these shall you do,” and that was in fact proven by Peter who went on to heal over 5000 according to the gospel of Acts and resurrect 3 people, one more than Jesus did. Many spiritual authorities believe that John achieved the Christ consciousness. The point is that if Jesus did it, you are supposed to do your best to do it too – raise your consciousness to the highest level.

A fundamental principle of teaching is that you never tell an Einstein that they will not exceed your accomplishments in science nor in the raising of your consciousness for that matter. Before Einstein, Newton was an Einstein. Einstein said that he stood on the shoulders of those physicists who preceded him. That did not mean he was better than they were.

To my current understanding, I believe Jesus would find it laughable that anyone thought that the Christ Consciousness was reserved for him. Jesus was the one who hung out with prostitutes and tax collectors. Why would he minister to them, if they did not have his potential? Will everyone REACH that potential in this life? Obviously not, but our duty is to press on to the highest point of consciousness we can attain. Many say “We are already that which we seek,” but guess what, God still demands that we do the work to return to him in consciousness. So get busy! 😉 The standard God set for us through Jesus was exceedingly high, but attainable said the master himself.

I personally believe that numerous other fully realized beings exist including Jesus’ disciples John and Paul, (Peter may have as well and in any case he had a consciousness that was quite high as demonstrated by his miracles), Paramahansa Yogananda, Krishna, Buddha, Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Yukteswar, Ramana Maharshi, Robert Adams, and Nisargadatta. Lester Levenson also rose to a very high consciousness as well. There are many, many more that I will not list, and you may have your own favored candidates among those who have passed, which is fine. In addition, there are a number of people now living on the planet who are also extremely high in consciousness, and I honor their accomplishments as well.

Although it is possible that at the highest levels of consciousness there are still distinctions, and I allow for the possibility that some realized beings are higher than others, I really don’t believe it matters once a person reaches a certain level of realization and love. For that reason, what I will not do is judge them and rank them relative to Jesus. Why not? Because I recognize that many people may benefit from their unique perspectives and manners of expression. I believe there are many paths to the same point of Christ consciousness.

All that said, I also believe that choosing Jesus as your master is wise if you resonate with him, as he achieved the highest possible consciousness both in my experience and in that of many high masters of consciousness including Paramahansa Yogananda by the way who wrote a two volume text on Jesus’ teachings called “The Second Coming of Christ,” which was communicated to him by Jesus.

In this manner, we can be enlightened Christians so to speak that do not seek to judge and separate ourselves from anything or anyone. After all, isn’t Oneness the key and are we not one with the Father as Jesus was when we are one with everyone and everything on this planet? We don’t need to judge other paths to be on our own.

I’d like to emphasize then, that the point is not to declare Jesus as superior to other master gurus so to speak, but to ask “Does it serve a purpose to keep Jesus Christ as one’s spiritual example and leader?” Absolutely, because it achieves a focus of purpose, but another guru may serve as your personal guru.

The key that unites all paths is the overriding principle of achieving the Christ Consciousness in yourself. Yes, you! Futhermore, my understanding is this: “If achieving the Christ Consciousness is your sole focus, you can still incorporate the teachings of other master teachers with that focus without diminishing the impact of your efforts.” Just be sure to have a primary guru who guides you, living or not.

We seek here to be true disciples of Christ as John wrote in John 8:31-32: “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The purpose of the “Christian Church of Enlightenment™” is to help you achieve oneness with God in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. We will use some specific methods of doing what Jesus told us to do, but all these approaches will be based on the principles of Jesus’ teachings and those relevant from the Old Testament, which in his words, Jesus sought to build upon, not to destroy.

Please note that the purpose of the Christian Church of Enlightenment™ is not spiritual entertainment, but rather, spiritual transformation in an interactive format in accordance with Jesus’ teachings. The format will involve some teaching, but the rest will be about helping you to raise your consciousness during the time we spend together. The intention is that you will be freer when you leave the session than when you entered it.

I invite you to fully reclaim, or claim for the first time, your connection with Jesus Christ on the path to Christ Consciousness also known as Christian Enlightenment.

If this is not currently your path, but you would like to investigate it, you are also welcome to contact me. I don’t seek to convert anyone, just to interpret and teach. If this is your path, you will know it eventually.

Some who are now “spiritual but not religious” as they like to say on the dating websites, may feel that they shouldn’t be a disciple of anyone, but there one thing that spiritually advanced leaders agree upon and that is that part of full realization depends on our connection to a living or non-living guru, Jesus included.

Yogananda has said that the help of the guru is valued at 25% vs. 25% from personal effort and the rest is the grace of God. I would suggest that if Jesus is not your guru that you find one for guidance. Not everyone needs a guru, but most do to make more rapid, guided progress.

If you ARE ready to identify your path with Jesus, declare this now with me (or reaffirm it!; you can substitute your own guru of choice into the statement.): “I am NOW a faithful disciple of [Jesus Christ] and promise to completely fulfill the promise of the Christ Consciousness in myself to the best of my ability. Amen.”

Now that’s a good prayer. 😉 In Jesus’ name, in his spirit and according to his word, I give thanks for your presence with me in reading this here today and wish you the best on your journey into Christ Consciousness whoever your guru ends up being. I honor you on your path!
